ثُمَّthummaThenبَعَثْنَاbaʿathnāWe sentمِنْminafter himبَعْدِه۪baʿdihiafter himرُسُلاًrusulanMessengersاِلٰىilātoقَوْمِهِمْqawmihimtheir peopleفَجَٓاؤُ۫هُمْfajāūhumand they came to themبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَمَاfamāBut notكَانُواkānūthey wereلِيُؤْمِنُواliyu'minūto believeبِمَاbimāwhatكَذَّبُواkadhabūthey had deniedبِه۪bihi[it]مِنْminbeforeقَبْلُۜqablubeforeكَذٰلِكَkadhālikaThusنَطْبَعُnaṭbaʿuWe sealعَلٰىʿalā[on]قُلُوبِqulūbithe heartsالْمُعْتَد۪ينَl-muʿ'tadīna(of) the transgressorsThen, We sent messengers after him to their own people, so they came to them with proofs. But they did not want to acknowledge what they had already denied beforehand. It is such that We stamp on the hearts of the transgressors.
