وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالْمَلِكُl-malikuthe kingائْتُون۪يi'tūnīBring him to meبِه۪ۚbihiBring him to meفَلَمَّاfalammāBut whenجَٓاءَهُjāahucame to himالرَّسُولُl-rasūluthe messengerقَالَqālahe saidارْجِعْir'jiʿReturnاِلٰىilātoرَبِّكَrabbikayour lordفَسْـَٔلْهُfasalhuand ask himمَاmāwhatبَالُbālu(is the) caseالنِّسْوَةِl-nis'wati(of) the womenالّٰت۪يallātīwhoقَطَّعْنَqaṭṭaʿnacutاَيْدِيَهُنَّۜaydiyahunnatheir handsاِنَّinnaIndeedرَبّ۪يrabbīmy Lordبِكَيْدِهِنَّbikaydihinnaof their plotعَل۪يمٌʿalīmun(is) All-KnowerThe King said, "Bring him to me." When the messenger came to him, he said, "Go back to your lord and ask him what the matter was regarding the women that cut their hands? My Lord is well aware of their scheming."
