Surah 16 · Verse 35

وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoاَشْرَكُواashrakūassociate partners (with Allah)لَوْlawIfشَٓاءَshāaAllah (had) willedاللّٰهُl-lahuAllah (had) willedمَاmānotعَبَدْنَاʿabadnāwe (would) have worshippedمِنْminother than Himدُونِه۪dūnihiother than Himمِنْminanyشَيْءٍshayinthingنَحْنُnaḥnuweوَلَٓاwalāand notاٰبَٓاؤُ۬نَاābāunāour forefathersوَلَاwalāand notحَرَّمْنَاḥarramnāwe (would) have forbiddenمِنْminother than Himدُونِه۪dūnihiother than HimمِنْminanythingشَيْءٍۜshayinanythingكَذٰلِكَkadhālikaThusفَعَلَfaʿaladidالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoمِنْmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْۚqablihim(were) before themفَهَلْfahalThen is (there)عَلَىʿalāonالرُّسُلِl-rusulithe messengersاِلَّاillāexceptالْبَلَاغُl-balāghuthe conveyanceالْمُب۪ينُl-mubīnuclear
