يَكَادُyakāduAlmostالْبَرْقُl-barquthe lightningيَخْطَفُyakhṭafusnatches awayاَبْصَارَهُمْۜabṣārahumtheir sightكُلَّمَٓاkullamāWheneverاَضَٓاءَaḍāait flashesلَهُمْlahumfor themمَشَوْاmashawthey walkف۪يهِۙfīhiin itوَاِذَٓاwa-idhāand whenاَظْلَمَaẓlamait darkensعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimon themقَامُواۜqāmūthey stand (still)وَلَوْwalawAnd ifشَٓاءَshāahad willedاللّٰهُl-lahuAllahلَذَهَبَladhahabaHe would certainly have taken awayبِسَمْعِهِمْbisamʿihimtheir hearingوَاَبْصَارِهِمْۜwa-abṣārihimand their sightاِنَّinnaIndeedاللّٰهَl-lahaAllahعَلٰىʿalā(is) onكُلِّkullieveryشَيْءٍshayinthingقَد۪يرٌ۟qadīrunAll-PowerfulThe lightning nearly snatches away their sight, whenever it lights the path, they walk in it, and when it becomes dark for them, they stand. Had God willed, He would have taken away their hearing and their sight. God is capable of all things.
