Surah 2 · Verse 213

كَانَkānaWasالنَّاسُl-nāsumankindاُمَّةًummatana communityوَاحِدَةًwāḥidatansingleفَبَعَثَfabaʿathathen raised upاللّٰهُl-lahuAllahالنَّبِيّ۪نَl-nabiyīna[the] Prophetsمُبَشِّر۪ينَmubashirīna(as) bearers of glad tidingsوَمُنْذِر۪ينَۖwamundhirīnaand (as) warnersوَاَنْزَلَwa-anzalaand sent downمَعَهُمُmaʿahumuwith themالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Bookبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin [the] truthلِيَحْكُمَliyaḥkumato judgeبَيْنَbaynabetweenالنَّاسِl-nāsi[the] peopleف۪يمَاfīmāin whatاخْتَلَفُواikh'talafūthey differedف۪يهِۜfīhi[in it]وَمَاwamāAnd (did) notاخْتَلَفَikh'talafadiffer[ed]ف۪يهِfīhiin itاِلَّاillāexceptالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoاُو۫تُوهُūtūhuwere given itمِنْminfromبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمَاmā[what]جَٓاءَتْهُمُjāathumucame to themالْبَيِّنَاتُl-bayinātuthe clear proofsبَغْياًbaghyan(out of) jealousyبَيْنَهُمْۚbaynahumamong themselvesفَهَدَىfahadāAnd guidedاللّٰهُl-lahuAllahالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoاٰمَنُواāmanūbelieve[d]لِمَاlimāregarding whatاخْتَلَفُواikh'talafūthey differedف۪يهِfīhi[in it]مِنَminaofالْحَقِّl-ḥaqithe Truthبِاِذْنِه۪ۜbi-idh'nihiwith His permissionوَاللّٰهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَهْد۪يyahdīguidesمَنْmanwhomيَشَٓاءُyashāuHe willsاِلٰىilātoصِرَاطٍṣirāṭina pathمُسْتَق۪يمٍmus'taqīminstraight
