ثُمَّ thumma Then قَسَتْ qasat hardened قُلُوبُكُمْ qulūbukum your hearts مِنْ min from بَعْدِ baʿdi after ذٰلِكَ dhālika that فَهِيَ fahiya so they كَالْحِجَارَةِ kal-ḥijārati (became) like [the] stones اَوْ aw or اَشَدُّ ashaddu stronger قَسْوَةًۜ qaswatan (in) hardness وَاِنَّ wa-inna And indeed مِنَ mina from الْحِجَارَةِ l-ḥijārati the stones لَمَا lamā certainly (there are some) which يَتَفَجَّرُ yatafajjaru gush forth مِنْهُ min'hu from it الْاَنْهَارُۜ l-anhāru [the] rivers وَاِنَّ wa-inna and indeed مِنْهَا min'hā from them لَمَا lamā certainly (there are some) which يَشَّقَّقُ yashaqqaqu split فَيَخْرُجُ fayakhruju so comes out مِنْهُ min'hu from it الْمَٓاءُۜ l-māu [the] water وَاِنَّ wa-inna and indeed مِنْهَا min'hā from them لَمَا lamā certainly (there are some) which يَهْبِطُ yahbiṭu fall down مِنْ min from خَشْيَةِ khashyati fear اللّٰهِۜ l-lahi (of) Allah وَمَا wamā And not اللّٰهُ l-lahu (is) Allah بِغَافِلٍ bighāfilin unaware عَمَّا ʿammā of what تَعْمَلُونَ taʿmalūna you do
Then your hearts became hardened after that, they became like stones or even harder; but even from the stones there are rivers that burst forth, or from them are those that crack so that the water comes forth, or from them are what fall from the fear of God; God is not unaware of what you do.
