Surah 2 · Verse 89

وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenجَٓاءَهُمْjāahumcame to themكِتَابٌkitābuna Bookمِنْminofعِنْدِʿindifromاللّٰهِl-lahiAllahمُصَدِّقٌmuṣaddiqunconfirmingلِمَاlimāwhat (was)مَعَهُمْۙmaʿahumwith themوَكَانُواwakānūthough they used toمِنْminfromقَبْلُqablubeforeيَسْتَفْتِحُونَyastaftiḥūna(that), pray for victoryعَلَىʿalāoverالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواۚkafarūdisbelievedفَلَمَّاfalammāthen whenجَٓاءَهُمْjāahumcame to themمَاmāwhatعَرَفُواʿarafūthey recognizedكَفَرُواkafarūthey disbelievedبِه۪ۘbihiin itفَلَعْنَةُfalaʿnatuSo (the) curseاللّٰهِl-lahi(of) Allahعَلَىʿalā(is) onالْكَافِر۪ينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
