قُلْqulSayاَط۪يعُواaṭīʿūObeyاللّٰهَl-lahaAllahوَاَط۪يعُواwa-aṭīʿūand obeyالرَّسُولَۚl-rasūlathe Messengerفَاِنْfa-inbut ifتَوَلَّوْاtawallawyou turn awayفَاِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon himمَاmā(is) whatحُمِّلَḥummila(is) placed on himوَعَلَيْكُمْwaʿalaykumand on youمَاmā(is) whatحُمِّلْتُمْۜḥummil'tum(is) placed on youوَاِنْwa-inAnd ifتُط۪يعُوهُtuṭīʿūhuyou obey himتَهْتَدُواۜtahtadūyou will be guidedوَمَاwamāAnd notعَلَىʿalā(is) onالرَّسُولِl-rasūlithe Messengerاِلَّاillāexceptالْبَلَاغُl-balāghuthe conveyanceالْمُب۪ينُl-mubīnu[the] clearSay: "Obey God, and obey the messenger." But if they turn away, then he is only responsible for his obligation, and you are responsible for your obligations. If you obey him, you will be guided. The messenger is only required to deliver clearly.
