فَلَمَّٓاfalammāThen whenاَنْan[that]اَرَادَarādahe wantedاَنْantoيَبْطِشَyabṭishastrikeبِالَّذ۪يbi-alladhīthe one whoهُوَhuwa[he] (was)عَدُوٌّʿaduwwunan enemyلَهُمَاۙlahumāto both of themقَالَqālahe saidيَاyāOمُوسٰٓىmuwsāāMusaاَتُر۪يدُaturīduDo you intendاَنْantoتَقْتُلَن۪يtaqtulanīkill meكَمَاkamāasقَتَلْتَqataltayou killedنَفْساًnafsana personبِالْاَمْسِۗbil-amsiyesterdayاِنْinNotتُر۪يدُturīduyou wantاِلَّٓاillābutاَنْanthatتَكُونَtakūnayou becomeجَبَّاراًjabbārana tyrantفِيfīinالْاَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَمَاwamāand notتُر۪يدُturīduyou wantاَنْanthatتَكُونَtakūnayou beمِنَminaofالْمُصْلِح۪ينَl-muṣ'liḥīnathe reformersBut when he was about to strike their common enemy, he said, "O Moses, do you want to kill me, as you killed that person yesterday? Obviously, you wish to be a tyrant on earth; you do not wish to be of the righteous."
