يَوْمَyawma(On the) Dayتَبْيَضُّtabyaḍḍuwould become whiteوُجُوهٌwujūhun(some) facesوَتَسْوَدُّwataswadduand would become blackوُجُوهٌۚwujūhun(some) facesفَاَمَّاfa-ammāAs forالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoseاسْوَدَّتْis'waddatturn blackوُجُوهُهُمْ۠wujūhuhum[their] facesاَكَفَرْتُمْakafartumDid you disbelieveبَعْدَbaʿdaafterا۪يمَانِكُمْīmānikumyour beliefفَذُوقُواfadhūqūThen tasteالْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentبِمَاbimāfor whatكُنْتُمْkuntumyou used toتَكْفُرُونَtakfurūnadisbelieveThe day on which faces will be brightened and faces will be darkened; as for those whose faces will be darkened: "Did you reject after acknowledging? Taste the retribution for what you rejected."
