وَلَوْwalawAnd ifيُؤَاخِذُyuākhidhuAllah (were to) punishاللّٰهُl-lahuAllah (were to) punishالنَّاسَl-nāsathe peopleبِمَاbimāfor whatكَسَبُواkasabūthey have earnedمَاmānotتَرَكَtarakaHe would leaveعَلٰىʿalāonظَهْرِهَاẓahrihāits backمِنْminanyدَٓابَّةٍdābbatincreatureوَلٰكِنْwalākinButيُؤَخِّرُهُمْyu-akhiruhumHe gives them respiteاِلٰٓىilātillاَجَلٍajalina termمُسَمًّىۚmusammanappointedفَاِذَاfa-idhāAnd whenجَٓاءَjāacomesاَجَلُهُمْajaluhumtheir termفَاِنَّfa-innathen indeedاللّٰهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisبِعِبَادِه۪biʿibādihiof His slavesبَص۪يراًbaṣīranAll-SeerIf God were to punish the people for what they have earned, He would not leave a single creature standing. But He delays them to a predetermined time. Then, when their time comes, then God is Seer of His servants.
