Surah 4 · Verse 176

يَسْتَفْتُونَكَۜyastaftūnakaThey seek your rulingقُلِquliSayاللّٰهُl-lahuAllahيُفْت۪يكُمْyuf'tīkumgives you a rulingفِيfīconcerningالْكَلَالَةِۜl-kalālatithe Kalalaاِنِiniifامْرُؤٌاim'ru-ona manهَلَكَhalakadiedلَيْسَlaysa(and) notلَهُlahuhe hasوَلَدٌwaladuna childوَلَهُٓwalahuand he hasاُخْتٌukh'tuna sisterفَلَهَاfalahāthen for herنِصْفُniṣ'fu(is) a halfمَاmā(of) whatتَرَكَۚtarakahe leftوَهُوَwahuwaAnd heيَرِثُـهَٓاyarithuhāwill inherit from herاِنْinifلَمْlamnotيَكُنْyakunisلَهَاlahāfor herوَلَدٌۜwaladuna childفَاِنْfa-inBut ifكَانَتَاkānatāthere wereاثْنَتَيْنِith'nataynitwo femalesفَلَهُمَاfalahumāthen for themالثُّلُثَانِl-thuluthānitwo thirdsمِمَّاmimmāof whatتَرَكَۜtarakahe leftوَاِنْwa-inBut ifكَانُٓواkānūthey wereاِخْوَةًikh'watanbrothers and sistersرِجَالاًrijālanmenوَنِسَٓاءًwanisāanand womenفَلِلذَّكَرِfalildhakarithen the male will haveمِثْلُmith'lulikeحَظِّḥaẓẓishareالْاُنْثَيَيْنِۜl-unthayayni(of) the two femalesيُبَيِّنُyubayyinumakes clearاللّٰهُl-lahuAllahلَكُمْlakumto youاَنْanlestتَضِلُّواۜtaḍillūyou go astrayوَاللّٰهُwal-lahuAnd Allahبِكُلِّbikulliof everyشَيْءٍshayinthingعَل۪يمٌʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
