Surah 4 · Verse 90

اِلَّاillāExceptالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoيَصِلُونَyaṣilūnajoinاِلٰىilā[to]قَوْمٍqawmina groupبَيْنَكُمْbaynakumbetween youوَبَيْنَهُمْwabaynahumand between themم۪يثَاقٌmīthāqun(is) a treatyاَوْaworجَٓاؤُ۫كُمْjāūkumthose who come to youحَصِرَتْḥaṣiratrestrainingصُدُورُهُمْṣudūruhumtheir heartsاَنْanthatيُقَاتِلُوكُمْyuqātilūkumthey fight youاَوْaworيُقَاتِلُواyuqātilūthey fightقَوْمَهُمْۜqawmahumtheir peopleوَلَوْwalawAnd ifشَٓاءَshāa(had) willedاللّٰهُl-lahuAllahلَسَلَّطَهُمْlasallaṭahumsurely He (would have) given them powerعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumover youفَلَقَاتَلُوكُمْۚfalaqātalūkumand surely they (would have) fought youفَاِنِfa-iniSo ifاعْتَزَلُوكُمْiʿ'tazalūkumthey withdraw from youفَلَمْfalamand (do) notيُقَاتِلُوكُمْyuqātilūkumfight against youوَاَلْقَوْاwa-alqawand offerاِلَيْكُمُilaykumuto youالسَّلَمَۙl-salama[the] peaceفَمَاfamāthen notجَعَلَjaʿala(has) madeاللّٰهُl-lahuAllahلَكُمْlakumfor youعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimagainst themسَب۪يلاًsabīlana way
