Surah 40 · Verse 21

اَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَس۪يرُواyasīrūthey travelفِيfīinالْاَرْضِl-arḍithe earthفَيَنْظُرُواfayanẓurūand seeكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَاقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) endالَّذ۪ينَalladhīna(of) those whoكَانُواkānūwereمِنْminbefore themقَبْلِهِمْۜqablihimbefore themكَانُواkānūThey wereهُمْhum[they]اَشَدَّashaddasuperiorمِنْهُمْmin'humto themقُوَّةًquwwatan(in) strengthوَاٰثَاراًwaāthāranand (in) impressionsفِيfīinالْاَرْضِl-arḍithe landفَاَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumubut Allah seized themاللّٰهُl-lahubut Allah seized themبِذُنُوبِهِمْbidhunūbihimfor their sinsوَمَاwamāand notكَانَkānawasلَهُمْlahumfor themمِنَminaagainstاللّٰهِl-lahiAllahمِنْminanyوَاقٍwāqinprotector
