Surah 40 · Verse 22

ذٰلِكَdhālikaThatبِاَنَّهُمْbi-annahum(was) because [they]كَانَتْkānatused to come to themتَأْت۪يهِمْtatīhimused to come to themرُسُلُهُمْrusuluhumtheir Messengersبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَكَفَرُواfakafarūbut they disbelievedفَاَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumuSo Allah seized themاللّٰهُۜl-lahuSo Allah seized themاِنَّهُinnahuIndeed, Heقَوِيٌّqawiyyun(is) All-Strongشَد۪يدُshadīdusevereالْعِقَابِl-ʿiqābi(in) punishment
