كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedقَبْلَهُمْqablahumbefore themقَوْمُqawmu(the) peopleنُوحٍnūḥin(of) Nuhوَالْاَحْزَابُwal-aḥzābuand the factionsمِنْminafter themبَعْدِهِمْۖbaʿdihimafter themوَهَمَّتْwahammatand plottedكُلُّkullueveryاُمَّةٍummatinnationبِرَسُولِهِمْbirasūlihimagainst their Messengerلِيَأْخُذُوهُliyakhudhūhuto seize himوَجَادَلُواwajādalūand they disputedبِالْبَاطِلِbil-bāṭiliby falsehoodلِيُدْحِضُواliyud'ḥiḍūto refuteبِهِbihitherebyالْحَقَّl-ḥaqathe truthفَاَخَذْتُهُمْ۠fa-akhadhtuhumSo I seized themفَكَيْفَfakayfaThen howكَانَkānawasعِقَابِʿiqābiMy penaltyBefore they, the people of Noah denied and the opponents after them. Every nation plotted against their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by means of falsehood to defeat with it the truth. So I seized them; how then was My punishment!
