Surah 42 · Verse 14

وَمَاwamāAnd notتَفَرَّقُٓواtafarraqūthey became dividedاِلَّاillāuntilمِنْminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمَاmā[what]جَٓاءَهُمُjāahumucame to themالْعِلْمُl-ʿil'muthe knowledgeبَغْياًbaghyan(out of) rivalryبَيْنَهُمْۜbaynahumamong themوَلَوْلَاwalawlāAnd if notكَلِمَةٌkalimatun(for) a wordسَبَقَتْsabaqat(that) precededمِنْminfromرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordاِلٰٓىilāforاَجَلٍajalina termمُسَمًّىmusammanspecifiedلَقُضِيَlaquḍiyasurely, it (would have) been settledبَيْنَهُمْۜbaynahumbetween themوَاِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoاُو۫رِثُواūrithūwere made to inheritالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Bookمِنْminafter themبَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter themلَف۪يlafī(are) surely inشَكٍّshakkindoubtمِنْهُmin'huconcerning itمُر۪يبٍmurībindisquieting
