Surah 46 · Verse 17

وَالَّذ۪يwa-alladhīBut the one whoقَالَqālasaysلِوَالِدَيْهِliwālidayhito his parentsاُفٍّuffinUffلَكُمَٓاlakumāto both of youاَتَعِدَانِن۪ٓيataʿidāninīDo you promise meاَنْanthatاُخْرَجَukh'rajaI will be brought forthوَقَدْwaqadand have already passed awayخَلَتِkhalatiand have already passed awayالْقُرُونُl-qurūnuthe generationsمِنْminbefore meقَبْل۪يqablībefore meوَهُمَاwahumāAnd they bothيَسْتَغ۪يثَانِyastaghīthāniseek helpاللّٰهَl-laha(of) AllahوَيْلَكَwaylakaWoe to youاٰمِنْۗāminBelieveاِنَّinnaIndeedوَعْدَwaʿda(the) Promiseاللّٰهِl-lahi(of) Allahحَقٌّۚḥaqqun(is) trueفَيَقُولُfayaqūluBut he saysمَاmāNotهٰذَٓاhādhā(is) thisاِلَّٓاillābutاَسَاط۪يرُasāṭīru(the) storiesالْاَوَّل۪ينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
