فَاِنْ fa-in Then if عُثِرَ ʿuthira it is discovered عَلٰٓى ʿalā (on) اَنَّهُمَا annahumā that the two اسْتَحَقَّٓا is'taḥaqqā (were) guilty اِثْماً ith'man (of) sin فَاٰخَرَانِ faākharāni then (let) two others يَقُومَانِ yaqūmāni stand مَقَامَهُمَا maqāmahumā (in) their place مِنَ mina from الَّذ۪ينَ alladhīna those who اسْتَحَقَّ is'taḥaqqa have a lawful right عَلَيْهِمُ ʿalayhimu over them الْاَوْلَيَانِ l-awlayāni the former two فَيُقْسِمَانِ fayuq'simāni and let them both swear بِاللّٰهِ bil-lahi by Allah لَشَهَادَتُـنَٓا lashahādatunā Surely our testimony اَحَقُّ aḥaqqu (is) truer مِنْ min than شَهَادَتِهِمَا shahādatihimā testimony of the other two وَمَا wamā and not اعْتَدَيْنَاۘ iʿ'tadaynā we have transgressed اِنَّٓا innā Indeed, we اِذاً idhan then لَمِنَ lamina (will be) of الظَّالِم۪ينَ l-ẓālimīna the wrongdoers
In case it is noticed that they were biased, then two others belonging to the discriminated party shall take their place. They should swear by God, "Our testimony is more truthful than their testimony, and if we transgress, then we are of the wicked."
