وَاِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenسَمِعُواsamiʿūthey listenمَٓاmā(to) whatاُنْزِلَunzilahas been revealedاِلَىilātoالرَّسُولِl-rasūlithe Messengerتَرٰٓىtarāyou seeاَعْيُنَهُمْaʿyunahumtheir eyesتَف۪يضُtafīḍuoverflowingمِنَminawithالدَّمْعِl-damʿithe tearsمِمَّاmimmāfor whatعَرَفُواʿarafūthey recognizedمِنَminaofالْحَقِّۚl-ḥaqithe truthيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnaThey sayرَبَّنَٓاrabbanāOur Lordاٰمَنَّاāmannāwe have believedفَاكْتُبْنَاfa-uk'tub'nāso write usمَعَmaʿawithالشَّاهِد۪ينَl-shāhidīnathe witnessesIf they hear what was sent down to the messenger you see their eyes flooding with tears, for what they have known as the truth, they say, "Our Lord, we acknowledge, so record us with the witnesses."
