Surah 50 · Verse 36

وَكَمْwakamAnd how manyاَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyedقَبْلَهُمْqablahumbefore themمِنْminofقَرْنٍqarnina generationهُمْhumtheyاَشَدُّashaddu(were) strongerمِنْهُمْmin'humthan themبَطْشاًbaṭshan(in) powerفَنَقَّبُواfanaqqabūso they exploredفِيfīthroughoutالْبِلَادِۜl-bilādithe landsهَلْhalIs (there)مِنْminanyمَح۪يصٍmaḥīṣinplace of escape
