Surah 57 · Verse 16

اَلَمْalamHas notيَأْنِyanicome (the) timeلِلَّذ۪ينَlilladhīnafor those whoاٰمَنُٓواāmanūbelievedاَنْanthatتَخْشَعَtakhshaʿabecome humbleقُلُوبُهُمْqulūbuhumtheir heartsلِذِكْرِlidhik'riat (the) remembrance (of) Allahاللّٰهِl-lahiat (the) remembrance (of) Allahوَمَاwamāand whatنَزَلَnazalahas come downمِنَminaofالْحَقِّۙl-ḥaqithe truthوَلَاwalāAnd notيَكُونُواyakūnūthey becomeكَالَّذ۪ينَka-alladhīnalike those whoاُو۫تُواūtūwere givenالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Bookمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeفَطَالَfaṭāla(and) was prolongedعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimufor themالْاَمَدُl-amaduthe termفَقَسَتْfaqasatso hardenedقُلُوبُهُمْۜqulūbuhumtheir heartsوَكَث۪يرٌwakathīrunand manyمِنْهُمْmin'humof themفَاسِقُونَfāsiqūna(are) defiantly disobedient
