Surah 6 · Verse 151

قُلْqulSayتَعَالَوْاtaʿālawComeاَتْلُatluI will reciteمَاmāwhatحَرَّمَḥarramahas prohibitedرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lordعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumto youاَلَّاallāThat (do) notتُشْرِكُواtush'rikūassociateبِه۪bihiwith Himشَيْـٔاًۜshayananythingوَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِwabil-wālidayniand with the parentsاِحْسَاناًۚiḥ'sānan(be) goodوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَقْتُلُٓواtaqtulūkillاَوْلَادَكُمْawlādakumyour childrenمِنْmin(out) ofاِمْلَاقٍۜim'lāqinpovertyنَحْنُnaḥnuWeنَرْزُقُكُمْnarzuqukumprovide for youوَاِيَّاهُمْۚwa-iyyāhumand for themوَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَقْرَبُواtaqrabūgo nearالْفَوَاحِشَl-fawāḥisha[the] immoralitiesمَاmāwhatظَهَرَẓahara(is) apparentمِنْهَاmin'hāof themوَمَاwamāand whatبَطَنَۚbaṭana(is) concealedوَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَقْتُلُواtaqtulūkillالنَّفْسَl-nafsathe soulالَّت۪يallatīwhichحَرَّمَḥarramahas (been) forbiddenاللّٰهُl-lahu(by) Allahاِلَّاillāexceptبِالْحَقِّۜbil-ḥaqiby (legal) rightذٰلِكُمْdhālikumThatوَصّٰيكُمْwaṣṣākum(He) has enjoined on youبِه۪bihiwith itلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūnause reason
