وَاِنْwa-inAnd ifكَانَkānaisكَبُرَkaburadifficultعَلَيْكَʿalaykafor youاِعْرَاضُهُمْiʿ'rāḍuhumtheir aversionفَاِنِfa-inithen ifاسْتَطَعْتَis'taṭaʿtayou are ableاَنْantoتَبْتَغِيَtabtaghiyaseekنَفَقاًnafaqana tunnelفِيfīinالْاَرْضِl-arḍithe earthاَوْaworسُلَّماًsullamana ladderفِيfīintoالسَّمَٓاءِl-samāithe skyفَتَأْتِيَهُمْfatatiyahumso that you bring to themبِاٰيَةٍۜbiāyatina SignوَلَوْwalawBut ifشَٓاءَshāa(had) willedاللّٰهُl-lahuAllahلَجَمَعَهُمْlajamaʿahumsurely He (would) have gathered themعَلَىʿalāonالْهُدٰىl-hudāthe guidanceفَلَاfalāSo (do) notتَكُونَنَّtakūnannabeمِنَminaofالْجَاهِل۪ينَl-jāhilīnathe ignorantIf their aversion has become too much for you, then perhaps you could make a tunnel in the earth, or a ladder to the heavens, and bring them a sign. Had God willed, He would have summoned them to the guidance; so do not be of the ignorant ones.
