مَثَلُmathalu(The) likenessالَّذ۪ينَalladhīna(of) those whoحُمِّلُواḥummilūwere entrustedالتَّوْرٰيةَl-tawrāta(with) the Tauratثُمَّthummathenلَمْlamnotيَحْمِلُوهَاyaḥmilūhāthey bore itكَمَثَلِkamathali(is) likeالْحِمَارِl-ḥimārithe donkeyيَحْمِلُyaḥmiluwho carriesاَسْفَاراًۜasfāranbooksبِئْسَbi'saWretched isمَثَلُmathalu(the) exampleالْقَوْمِl-qawmi(of) the peopleالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnawhoكَذَّبُواkadhabūdenyبِاٰيَاتِbiāyāti(the) Signsاللّٰهِۜl-lahi(of) Allahوَاللّٰهُwal-lahuAnd Allahلَاlā(does) notيَهْدِيyahdīguideالْقَوْمَl-qawmathe peopleالظَّالِم۪ينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoersThe example of those who were given the Torah, but then failed to uphold it, is like the donkey that is carrying a cargo of book. Miserable indeed is the example of people who denied God's signs. God does not guide the wicked people.
