تِلْكَtil'kaTheseالْقُرٰىl-qurā(were) the citiesنَقُصُّnaquṣṣuWe relateعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youمِنْminofاَنْـبَٓائِهَاۚanbāihātheir newsوَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyجَٓاءَتْهُمْjāathumcame to themرُسُلُهُمْrusuluhumtheir Messengersبِالْبَيِّنَاتِۚbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَمَاfamābut notكَانُواkānūthey wereلِيُؤْمِنُواliyu'minūto believeبِمَاbimāin whatكَذَّبُواkadhabūthey (had) deniedمِنْminfromقَبْلُۜqablubeforeكَذٰلِكَkadhālikaThusيَطْبَعُyaṭbaʿu(has been) put a sealاللّٰهُl-lahu(by) Allahعَلٰىʿalāonقُلُوبِqulūbi(the) heartsالْكَافِر۪ينَl-kāfirīna(of) the disbelieversThese are the towns whose stories We relate to you; their messengers had come to them with proofs, but they would not acknowledge what they had denied before. It is such that God stamps on the hearts of the ingrates.
