Surah 7 · Verse 160

وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمُwaqaṭṭaʿnāhumuAnd We divided themاثْنَتَيْith'natay(into) twoعَشْرَةَʿashrata(and) ten [i.e. twelve]اَسْبَاطاًasbāṭantribesاُمَماًۜumaman(as) communitiesوَاَوْحَيْنَٓاwa-awḥaynāAnd We inspiredاِلٰىilātoمُوسٰٓىmūsāMusaاِذِidhiwhenاسْتَسْقٰيهُis'tasqāhuasked him for waterقَوْمُهُٓqawmuhuhis peopleاَنِani[that]اضْرِبْiḍ'ribStrikeبِعَصَاكَbiʿaṣākawith your staffالْحَجَرَۚl-ḥajarathe stoneفَانْبَجَسَتْfa-inbajasatThen gushed forthمِنْهُmin'hufrom itاثْنَتَاith'natātwoعَشْرَةَʿashrata(and) ten [i.e. twelve]عَيْناًۜʿaynanspringsقَدْqadCertainlyعَلِمَʿalimaknewكُلُّkullueachاُنَاسٍunāsinpeopleمَشْرَبَهُمْۜmashrabahumtheir drinking placeوَظَلَّلْنَاwaẓallalnāAnd We shadedعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimu[on] themالْغَمَامَl-ghamāma(with) the cloudsوَاَنْزَلْنَاwa-anzalnāand We sent downعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuupon themالْمَنَّl-manathe mannaوَالسَّلْوٰىۜwal-salwāand the quailsكُلُواkulūEatمِنْminfromطَيِّبَاتِṭayyibāti(the) good thingsمَاmāwhichرَزَقْنَاكُمْۜrazaqnākumWe have provided youوَمَاwamāAnd notظَلَمُونَاẓalamūnāthey wronged Usوَلٰكِنْwalākinbutكَانُٓواkānūthey wereاَنْفُسَهُمْanfusahum(to) themselvesيَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūnadoing wrong
