Surah 7 · Verse 189

هُوَhuwaHeالَّذ۪يalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated youمِنْminfromنَفْسٍnafsina soulوَاحِدَةٍwāḥidatinsingleوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itزَوْجَهَاzawjahāits mateلِيَسْكُنَliyaskunathat he might liveاِلَيْهَاۚilayhāwith herفَلَمَّاfalammāAnd whenتَغَشّٰيهَاtaghashāhāhe covers herحَمَلَتْḥamalatshe carriesحَمْلاًḥamlana burdenخَف۪يفاًkhafīfanlightفَمَرَّتْfamarratand continuesبِه۪ۚbihiwith itفَلَمَّٓاfalammāBut whenاَثْقَلَتْathqalatshe grows heavyدَعَوَاdaʿawāthey both invokeاللّٰهَl-lahaAllahرَبَّهُمَاrabbahumātheir Lordلَئِنْla-inIfاٰتَيْتَنَاātaytanāYou give usصَالِحاًṣāliḥana righteous (child)لَنَكُونَنَّlanakūnannasurely we will beمِنَminaamongالشَّاكِر۪ينَl-shākirīnathe thankful
