Surah 9 · Verse 69

كَالَّذ۪ينَka-alladhīnaLike thoseمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكُمْqablikumbefore youكَانُٓواkānūthey wereاَشَدَّashaddamightierمِنْكُمْminkumthan youقُوَّةًquwwatan(in) strengthوَاَكْثَرَwa-aktharaand more abundantاَمْوَالاًamwālan(in) wealthوَاَوْلَاداًۜwa-awlādanand childrenفَاسْتَمْتَعُواfa-is'tamtaʿūSo they enjoyedبِخَلَاقِهِمْbikhalāqihimtheir portionفَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْfa-is'tamtaʿtumand you have enjoyedبِخَلَاقِكُمْbikhalāqikumyour portionكَمَاkamālikeاسْتَمْتَعَis'tamtaʿaenjoyedالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathoseمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكُمْqablikumbefore youبِخَلَاقِهِمْbikhalāqihimtheir portionوَخُضْتُمْwakhuḍ'tumand you indulgeكَالَّذ۪يka-alladhīlike the one whoخَاضُواۜkhāḍūindulges (in idle talk)اُو۬لٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseحَبِطَتْḥabiṭatworthlessاَعْمَالُهُمْaʿmāluhum(are) their deedsفِيfīinالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe worldوَالْاٰخِرَةِۚwal-ākhiratiand (in) the Hereafterوَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaAnd thoseهُمُhumutheyالْخَاسِرُونَl-khāsirūna(are) the losers
