وَلَاwalāAnd notعَلَىʿalāonالَّذ۪ينَalladhīnathose whoاِذَاidhāwhenمَٓاmāwhenاَتَوْكَatawkathey came to youلِتَحْمِلَهُمْlitaḥmilahumthat you provide them with mountsقُلْتَqul'tayou saidلَٓاlāNotاَجِدُajiduI findمَٓاmāwhatاَحْمِلُكُمْaḥmilukumto mount youعَلَيْهِۖʿalayhion [it]تَوَلَّوْاtawallawThey turned backوَاَعْيُنُهُمْwa-aʿyunuhumwith their eyesتَف۪يضُtafīḍuflowingمِنَmina[of]الدَّمْعِl-damʿi(with) the tearsحَزَناًḥazanan(of) sorrowاَلَّاallāthat notيَجِدُواyajidūthey findمَاmāwhatيُنْفِقُونَۜyunfiqūnathey (could) spendNor upon those who come to ride out with you, while you said, "I do not have any mounts for you;" they turned away while their eyes were flooded with tears out of sadness, for they could not find anything to contribute.
